Jenna Cruisin' for a Bruisin'

"I have a scar on my leg from Tom Cruise," she says. "Last year, we were playing volleyball, and Tom and I are always on the same team, because I don't want to play against him. He is really competitive... I'm just as competitive. So we both went for the same ball, and he fell on my shin and slid down it, and it just took a whole layer of skin off my shin."

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - ``Dharma & Greg'' star Jenna Elfman is negotiating for the female lead role in ``Keeping the Faith,'' the film on which actor Edward Norton will make his directorial debut. Elfman, who recently won the Golden
Globe for her work in the hit ABC comedy, has been courted for several film offers during her hiatus. It's possible she might try to squeeze in two roles, as she was said to be the leading choice to star with Tom Cruise in``Minority Report,'' a drama that Steven Spielberg will direct.

Jenna's first job: "I was an envelope stuffer, I bagged groceries." But Jenna's strangest job was in the clothing business: "I was the one who put the prongs in the shirt, dropped the sequin in, and closed the prongs around it."

Short Layer Hairstyles

Sorry I've taken so long in answering questions concerning Jenna's hair, but here it is in two easy steps:

Step 1: She uses gel on damp hair and tousles while blow-drying.

Step 2: She then applies pomade to layers.

The Long version: To style it like a pro, one must apply a lightweight mousse to towel-dry hair. Using a vent brush while blow drying, concentrate heat on top, rather than underlying layers. After hair is dry, work a pomade into your palms and tousle through hair to separate layers, adding the look of texture. Finally spritz lightly with hairspray.

Jenna Elfman has had the kind of year actresses dream of. Critics are raving about her performance on Dharma & Greg, and viewers have responded by making it ABC's only new hit. With all this buzz swirling around her, it's nice to know that instead of getting a big head, she has found a big heart. Elfman recently made a large donation to Little Angels Pug Rescue, which is devoted to saving the breed from animal shelters. And she got her producers to donate a walk-on part to raise even more money. Why pugs?Because Elfman has a puppy pug of her own named Guenevere. "She loves pugs," says her spokeswoman. By raffling off the walk-on part, LAPR hopes to raise $5,000. "It's very much a lifesaver," says LAPR's Sherrie Woodbury. "Or should I say a pug saver?"
