Welcome to my decorations page. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed (whether indirectly or directly) to this page. I have decided to thank my contributors by hosting their links on my page. Okay here are the basic necessities for haunted decor, have fun with the deco!

Christmas Lights:
  • Try to buy orange lights (sold during Halloween at most discount stores).
  • If you only have Christmas lights, try to distribute each colour separately from the other ones so that each room can have a different theme-colour. You don't want any guests breaking into carols when they see basic Christmas lights strung up.
Tombstones:
  • Simple: Use styrofoam sheets or foamcore (wide enough to cut). Paint the styrofoam gray. Don't forget to print your inscriptions from your computer and cut out the letters to make a template. Put template on styrofoam and spray over it with a can of black spray paint.
Candles:
A definite must for conjuring up a moody atnosphere. Be careful not to have any of your candles near flammable objects such as webs or streamers. You can buy emergency candles in boxes for really cheap at any discount store.
Curtains:

Try to buy the cheapest black material you can find. Hang as much of the stuff around as possible. They can be hung from the ceiling or drapped over doors.

Streamers:

These are always festive. You can hang them from wall to wall or just let them drop from the ceiling.

Shredded Garbage bags:

These make great streamers. Hang them under doorways or from the ceiling in any room.

Bats:

Make a template (using cardboard) of a simple bat shape. Trace the bat using a white pencil on several sheets of black paper. Cut the bats out and hang them with fishing string from the ceiling.

Balloons:

Try to keep the colours dark (ie: black, purple, orange, silver or gold ).

Blacklights:

These are the best lights around. You can even rent the long powerful ones instead of buying the cheap bulb types.

Cheap decorations:

You know them, I know them, no Halloween can be without them - cheap decorations. These can be bought at most retail stores. Some can be effective, others can be downright cheesy.

Bottles of Liquid:

Liquid can be fun, especially when you use food coloring or even a bit of watercolour paint. Use interesting bottles to hold the liquid and shine lights through them.

Leaves:

Leaves and even hay can be used indoors to add a certain 'Autumn' effect to your house. Another idea is to use dried flowers for wreaths, etc. Go to your local florist and ask them to save the dead flowers.

Pumpkins:

Which Halloween party is without pumpkins. This is your prime ingredient for any Haunted attraction. Check my links section for some great pumpkin carving sites.

Webs:

I found loads of this stuff at the dollar store. However it is possible to make your own webs from wool. You need to pull wool apart in the form of carded fleece (translation: fluffy wool which is not made into yarn yet.)
